Television (IPTV)

IPTV can be accessed via a wired ethernet connection from University residence halls, allowing users to watch television programming on their personal computers. A set top box must be rented through Residential Life if users want to IPTV on a television set.   IPTV carries a total of 32 channels .  Four of these channels are dedicated to Brown programming: campus announcements, BTV, VF1, and VF2. The last two are used to air recordings of selected campus speakers and events as well as student video works. IPTV includes international as well as domestic programming.

Request this Service: 

This service is available to all wired, registered computers in a residence hall. Students who want to watch IPTV on a television set rather than on a computer must contact Residential Life by walking in to 130 South Wayland, calling 863-3502 or sending mail.  Departments interested in obtaining a set top box should also contact Residential Life. 

Cost

The service is free but set-top box rental is $40/year.
