Wenlei Zhu

Wenlei is synthesizing Cu-based alloy and core/shell structures and testing their ability to reduce CO2 in KHCO3 electrochemically. His target is to reduce the large overpotential observed on conventional catalyst surfaces and to achieve controlled conversion of CO2 to industrially-relevant carbon products. In collaboration with the Peterson group, these materials are being modeled for their catalytic capacity.
