Sigma Xi at Tougaloo College
In Spring 2014 was established a branch of the Sigma Xi Honor Society on the campus of Tougaloo College to induct students to Sigma Xi through the Brown Chapter.
Dr. Wendy White, Co-Principal Investigator/Coordinator/Instructor of the Jackson Heart Study at Tougaloo College, became the Tougaloo Sigma Xi Advisor on-campus, working closely with Sigma Xi Brown Chapter Officers.
In Fall 2014 Dr. Bidisha Sengupta, Professor in the Department of Chemistry, joined hands with Dr. White to serve as the Assistant Advisor for the Sigma Xi branch on the campus of Tougaloo College.
High achieving science students are nominated for membership to Sigma Xi through the Brown Chapter.
This collaboration between Tougaloo College and Brown University adds to the distinctive programs that are part of the Brown-Tougaloo Partnership as BTP commemorates fifty years.
