Pierre-Louis Bazin hard at work creating 3D scans of an artifact from the Petra Great Temple
This database is being created in order to provide users with access to artifact data from the Petra Great Temple excavations not readily available to the public, including digital photos, video, and 3D scans of artifacts in VRML format. Means of viewing these 3D images over the web was provided by Dr. Andrew Willis of UNC Charlotte, formerly of LEMS (Laboratory for Engineering Man-Machine Systems) at Brown University. All fieldwork on this project was done by Pierre-Louis Bazin, Andrew Willis, and the Petra Great Temple excavation team of 2002, under the direction of Dr. Martha Sharp Joukowsky.
