Sophia Academy in Partnership with the Sarah Doyle Women’s Center
Project Goals
- Empower Sophia Academy students (largely from low-income, single-parent homes) to solve environmental problems.
- Engage middle school students in designing projects that result in emission reductions.
- Help students introduce practices into their own homes and communities that reduce carbon footprint.
Project Status
- Fall 2008: classroom projects and curriculum and students collected information on home energy use.
- Spring 2009: CFL and thermostat projects.
