Kaelyn McGregor, former Director of Administration for Brown University's Office of the Vice President for Research, passed away April 21, 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts.  Kaelyn was born in Anaheim, CA, on September 29, 1963. She graduated from New York University and received her PhD from University College London in Archaeology. She was employed by the British Museum while in London and traveled extensively in Greece and Cyprus working on her degree. Kaelyn loved her work and the academic environment at Brown. She was known for her entertaining and was a fabulous chef.

As her friends, family, and colleagues knew, Kaelyn’s first love was numismatics — the study of ancient coins and coinage. She fostered this in her years of doctoral study at University College London, and through her work in the Department of Coins and Medals at the British Museum and for the Royal Numismatic Society.

To honor Kaelyn and all she has done for Brown, the ‘Kaelyn McGregor Numismatic Research Fund’ has been established. This fund will provide resources for the analysis and curation of Brown’s numismatic collections, as well as support for Brown students who wish to follow in Kaelyn’s footsteps and do research in this very significant field of study.

If you are interested in making a donation, checks should be made out to ‘Brown University’, with a letter or note in the memo line stating that the gift is given:

‘In honor of Kaelyn McGregor for the Kaelyn McGregor Numismatic Research Fund’.

Checks can be sent to:
