Give again in 2010!

Let us demonstrate the depth and breadth of Brown University's commitment to Rhode Islanders in need by supporting Brown gives Green, the 2010 charities drive campaign.

This annual drive focuses our attention on supporting two organizations that provide essential resources to families and individuals in Rhode Island: The Fund for Community Progress and United Way of Rhode Island.

Please join President Ruth Simmons and campaign co-chairs, Professor Chung-I Tan and Vice President for Human Resources Karen Davis, in pledging support to our local community.

Help us increase the number of donors from the Brown community by filling out a pledge form for personal check and credit card donations. Online pledges will close on January 16th; please submit a paper form after that date.

In May 2009, Brown University was pleased to accept the 2008 Award for Campaign Excellence from The Fund for Community Progress!

2010 Campaign highlights
  • Online Giving - click the link under Resources to make your pledge via payroll deduction. Please note: this option is NOT available for check or credit card pledges.

  • Change for Change -give whatever change you can spare. See Resources for more information.

  • Round Up at the Bookstore - between November 1st and December 31st, cashiers at the Bookstore will be asking all customers to round up their sale to the nearest dollar. All the round ups will be donated to Brown gives Green.

  • A Greener campaign! The 2010 Guide to Giving will not be printed. See the Resources section for a PDF to view online.

  • Prizes! First time donors and others will be eligible for weekly prize drawings - see Resources for a prize listing.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
