Welcome to Providence, August 18 - 21, 2010

Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital, the major teaching hospital for the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University, thank you for attending the 34th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics. The meeting was held at the Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) in downtown Providence, Rhode Island, a city of 170,000 combines the charm of a small New England town with the energy of a thriving city.

PROGRAM

The program consist of three concurrent sessions with 104 presentations, two keynote lectures, two lab tours, two tutorials, four symposia and one continuous poster session with 357 posters, lined with 24 exhibitors.  The topics include aging, biofluidics, comparative biomechanics, cellular and tissue mechanics, computational biomechanics, ergonomics, imaging, injury prevention, instrumentation, locomotion, molecular motors, motor control, neuromechanics, orthopedics, prosthetics, rehabilitation, robotics, sports, tissue engineering, and vehicle occupant safety. Both modeling and experimental work at scales ranging from molecular to whole body.
