Ideas for DUG Events
If you can come up with an idea, we can help you plan it and fund it! Below are some successful events that DUGS have held in the past:
- Back to School Reception (reconnect and plan events for the year)
- Alumni Speaker via Brown Degree Days
- Lunch with faculty and/or graduate students in your department
- Visiting faculty forum
- Film screening (or outing) with casual conversation afterward
- Field trip (to local festival, political arena, arts center, heritage site, museum, etc.)
- Welcome get-together for new concentrators in the spring
- Commencement “tea” or “garden” party
- Reading group
- Pre-registration party (ask your faculty to talk about courses they will offer next semester or next year)
- Celebration/presentation of honors and capstone work
- Co-sponsored event with another DUG
